Located in Picture Butte Piyami Place is a care option for seniors that combines housing with healthcare services.  Services and care are provided to seniors who require 24-hour personal care with the support of an LPN but do not require unscheduled direct nursing care.  

Piyami Place Piyami Place consists of three, five-bed ‘townhouses’ that each contain:

• a living room
• homelike kitchen
• dining area
• private bedrooms with full bathing facilities
• each room is equipped with an emergency call system

 Each ‘townhouse’ also includes an assisted tub room and laundry facilities.

Allocation of Suites:

Piyami Place offers a total of 15 suites.  In order to most effectively meet the needs of the seniors requiring the specialized needs that Piyami Place offers, the suites are allocated as follows: 

1. Five suites in one secure ‘townhouse’ provide a safe environment for seniors diagnosed with dementia or specific behavioral concerns.

2. Seven suites are used for seniors requiring 24-hour Assisted Living level of care.

3. The remaining three suites are used as Community Support Beds for seniors requiring a short stay for minor illnesses, convalescence (like postoperative care), palliative care and respite care (for caregiver relief)

Staffing:

1. Personal Care Workers and LPN’s are on-site to provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility.   Additional services such as medication assistance are available to residents on a fee-for-service basis.

2. Chinook Health Community Care Registered Nurses visit Piyami Place each weekday to provide care planning as well as monitoring of the residents.   On weekends and holidays, Chinook Health Community Care Registered Nurses visit on an on-call basis.

Referral Process:

Placements to Piyami Place are completed based on referrals received from Community Care Registered Nurses.   Upon receipt of a referral, Green Acres Foundation will forward an application for residency into Piyami Place to the senior or his/her family.

In keeping with the Foundation’s mission to provide affordable housing, the Board of Directors reviews and sets the rental rate for Piyami Place on an annual basis.

The monthly fee for Piyami Place is $1400.00.  Other services are available on a fee-for-service basis and include medication assistance, personal laundry and cablevision.  Telephone service remains the responsibility of each resident.
