What is an Enhanced Lodge?
Green Acres Foundation Enhanced Lodge facilities are designed to provide 24-hour personal care services that allow senior citizens to remain independent in a home-like environment.
Where are Enhanced Lodge services provided?
What About Meals?
All three Lodges have a central dining room where tasty, healthy and nutritious meals are served. Our menus are set according to the Canada Food Guide and are approved by a Registered Dietician. Unfortunately, individual food requests and/or room service cannot be accommodated.
Are Enhanced Lodges staffed differently from regular Lodges?
Yes. Unlike a regular Lodge, Personal Care Workers are on-site 24 hours a day to provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility.
What are the fees for Enhanced Lodges?
In keeping with the Foundation’s mission to provide affordable housing, the Board of Directors reviews and sets rental rates on an annual basis following guidelines established by the Provincial Government. The Provincial Government provides a subsidy to management bodies for low to moderate income seniors who qualify for Alberta Seniors Benefits.
Seniors whose annual income is below $27,825 are eligible for the subsidized monthly rate of $1188.00.
For those seniors whose annual income is greater than $27,825, the unsubsidized monthly rate of $1438.00 shall apply.
Additional services such as medication assistance and personal laundry may be provided to residents for a monthly fee.
How are referrals made?
Upon receiving a referral from Home Care we will forward an application for residency in an Enhanced Lodge to the senior or to his/her family. Applications to reside in an Enhanced Lodge are to be made through the Green Acres Foundation Administration.
For more information about assessments and referrals to the Enhanced Lodge and Assisted Living programs, please contact the Chinook Health Access Centre at 388-6380.
Government Standards
The Government of Alberta requires operators of Supportive Living facilities to achieve certification under the Supportive Living Accommodation Standards review process. All Green Acres Foundation lodges have been reviewed and have achieved certification. A copy of the official Provincial certificate of achievement is displayed at the facility. As well, effective 2008, the Government requires that all personal care services provided must comply with the Provincial Continuing Care Health Services Standards.
