At Green Acres Foundation we believe that appropriate exercise and activity can open the door to better health, greater independence and a more fulfilling life.

We put our support behind exercise programs that will benefit our residents.  In fact, the proceeds of our annual charity golf tournament as well as funds obtained through various grant applications have enabled us to purchase fitness equipment for each of our lodges.  Some of this equipment includes:

  • treadmills
  • stationary exercise bikes
  • free weights

At Green Acres Foundation lodges, emphasis is always placed on choice.  Therefore, participation in all activities is a personal choice for our residents.  However, we encourage our residents to use this equipment at their leisure and to participate in “walking groups” and the exercise classes that are scheduled.

Some of our classes include:

  • exercises/fitness class
  • learning to use weights, bands, etc.
  • Tai Chi
  • walking clubs
  • bowling
