When I first decided to move to the Blue Sky Lodge I was a little bit hesitant to make the move.  After living here for three years I could not have made a better choice.

The surroundings are great and the staff are wonderful.

This is my new home and I love every bit of it.

Helen, a resident who has lived at Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale for 9 years is very happy that she moved into the Lodge.  She notes that Sunny South Lodge is a very clean and friendly place to be.  The staff are very friendly and have a great sense of humour.

Helen says that residents at Sunny South Lodge come from many different backgrounds, religions and countries, yet everyone gets along.  She thinks of all the other residents as members of one big, happy family.  There are lots of activities to participate in yet there is still time to do your own thing like crochet, knit, do puzzles or games.  One of Helen's favourite activities is the 'hymn sing' when residents who wish to join in, gather around the piano to sing hymns.  The residents love the activity coordinator and the events that are planned each month.

The food is quite good and residents are provided with quite a variety of different meals all the time.  Helen's theme for life is, "Love and you will be loved".

This is a real home to me.  My mother was a resident and now it is my home.  My family have always considered this home.

What impressed us the most when we started looking at Lodges as a permanent residence was the size of Alberta Rose lodge.  We were looking for a family-type home as opposed to the larger hotel-type and Alberta Rose suited our taste.  One thing we were interested in was entertainment.  We found there was always something to suit every taste, even a bus for trips.

We were impressed at the way the Manager and the Activity Coordinator managed to keep the varied personalities compatible.  The rest of the staff do everything they possibly can to keep us happy.  I have not seen another facility that offers what we are looking for in a home.

I moved into Pemmican Lodge when it opened in 1999 and have never looked back.  The staff here care about the residents and treat everyone with dignity and respect.  Meals are delicious and the facility is always clean and fresh.
