Sunny South Lodge is located in the heart of Coaldale where residents enjoy the best that small town living has to offer.  From its friendly community to the added security of knowing your neighbors, Sunny South Lodge provides seniors with comfort, quality of life and easy access to amenities by foot or by car.  The Lodge is conveniently located close to the Coaldale urgent care center, Sportsplex, numerous parks, shopping, medical and banking amenities. 

Sunny South Lodge contains 88 modern and comfortable rooms, delicious prepared meals and a wide variety of activities to choose from as well as a kind and helpful staff.

In order to most effectively meet the needs of seniors requiring the specialized needs that Sunny South Lodge offers, the following suites have been allocated to Designated Assisted Living care:

  • 12 suites in a secured area that provides a safe environment for seniors diagnosed with dementia or specific behavioural concerns
  • 13 suites for seniors requiring 24-hour Assisted Living level of care.

Whether you enjoy quiet morning walks, visiting with friends in the beautiful courtyard, golfing or a planned social outing, Sunny South Lodge is dedicated to helping you live your life to the fullest.

Whether you are looking for a single room, a barrier-free space or a couple suite, all of our rooms include:

  • private four-piece bathroom
  • personally controlled thermostats
  • emergency call system
  • fire-suppression sprinkler system


 

Residents may be assessed by Community Care Case Managers as requiring services such as assisting with:

  • taking their medications in accordance with the Medication Assistance Program (MAP);
  • skin care;
  • oxygen bottle cleaning and oxygen bottle changing;
  • personal grooming;
  • morning and/or evening dressing and undressing of persons to such a degree and extent as may be assessed as required, including compression stockings;
  • bathing and simple nail care;
  • toileting and incontinence pad changes and disposal;
  • ambulating;
  • the cognitively impaired, the blind, and those physically impaired and unable to participate in activities for daily living;
  • meal times;
  • delegated scheduled tasks as mutually agreed upon by CHR and GAF.
