1. Whoop Up Days
When: August 19th – 23rd from 12– 11 p.m.
Where: Various places in Lethbridge
Agri-food Hub Admission: Advance Tickets $12 / regular tickets $17
*Seniors (65+) save $2 off regular priced admission on-line or at the gate from August 10 – 23*
There’s no mystery why Whoop-Up Days takes the top spot. As Lethbridge’s premier summer event, the whole city goes full yee-haw! Enjoy city-wide pancake breakfasts and barbecues, a lively downtown parade, and thrilling rodeo action. Click here to see all events
2. Foodie Fest
When: July 29 and August 26 from 12 – 8 p.m.
Where: Galt Gardens, Festival Square, and participating downtown businesses
Admission: Free!
Need we say more? Discover all the delicious food downtown Lethbridge has to offer—including a variety of food trucks around Galt Gardens and tasty samples from participating businesses. After grabbing a bite, head over to Festival Square for live music.
3. LSCO Golden Anniversary Block Party
When: July 26 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: Civic Centre Track (behind LSCO – 500, 11th Street South)
Admission: Free!
The LSCO is celebrating 50 years as a registered charity with a community party that's fun for the whole family! Enjoy food, live music, a line dance demonstration, a kid zone, a ‘70s bus photo booth, and more!
4. Upside Downtown Concerts & Art on Rotary Square
When: Every Thursday in July and August from 5 – 7 p.m.
Where: Rotary Square at Casa
Admission: Free!
Casa’s annual summer concert series is back! Grab a drink and a snack from the food truck on site and enjoy some amazing live music. Click here for more info.
5. Lethbridge Historic Society Summer Tour Series
When: Sundays at 10 a.m. and Thursdays at 7 p.m.
Where: Various places in Lethbridge
Admission: $10 per tour (free for Historical Society members)
Learn more about Lethbridge’s past with local historian Belinda Crowson, as she shares stories and events that shaped the city’s history. Walking tours are 90 minutes long. Click here to get your tickets!
6. SAAG Seniors Tour and Tea
When: August 19th from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Where: Southern Alberta Art Gallery
Admission: Free!

7. Farmers’ Markets
When/Where:
Market at Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre: Saturdays until October 11 (no market on August 23)
Downtown Market on 6th Street: Wednesdays until August 27
Admission: Free!

8. Heritage Day
When: August 4
Where: Henderson Lake Park and Fort Whoop Up
Admission: Free!
Celebrate Alberta’s and Canada’s rich history, culture, and traditions with the Southern Alberta Ethnic Association at Henderson Lake Park. Be sure to also check out the activities at Fort Whoop-Up, showcasing life in the 1800s—including candle making, wagon rides, and more.
9. Shakespeare in the Garden
When: August 1 from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Where: Nikka Yuka Japanese Garden
Admission: $20 (regular admission) $55 (deluxe package)
Experience the magic of live theatre in full bloom! Join for Love’s Labour’s Lost, directed by Professor Dawn McCaugherty, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden.
10. Helen Shuler Coulee Centre Front Yard Tours
When: July 22 and August 26 at 9 a.m.
Where: Various places in Lethbridge
Admission: $10 (transportation provided)
If you love admiring beautiful gardens, this self-guided tour is for you! Explore some of the most stunning front yards in the city and connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts along the way. Whether you're looking for inspiration or simply want to enjoy a leisurely stroll through lush landscapes, this tour is the perfect way to celebrate our community’s green thumbs. Honourable Mentions
While not located in Lethbridge, both Coaldale Summerfest (August 8 – 10) and Picture Butte Jamboree Days! (August 15 – 17) are worth the short trip! Keep an eye out for the Green Acres Foundation parade float for both events!
