About the Alberta Seniors Benefit
The Alberta Seniors Benefit is a provincial program that provides monthly assistance to low-income seniors to help with living expenses and maintain a basic standard of living. The amount you may receive is calculated based on factors such as your income (including federal benefits), living situation, and marital status. Benefits end if you move out of Alberta permanently or the month following the recipient’s death.
With the cost of living on the rise, this monthly allowance can make a significant difference for seniors living on a fixed or low income. The application process may seem complicated at first, and some seniors might assume they don’t qualify – but the first step is simply being aware that help is available. We’re here to break it down for you.
